Our Week At The Shore – A Song For C

Not law-related.

Driving ‘cross the bridge over the Bay of Paradise
You turned to me and asked how long we’d stay
I knew that you weren’t talking ’bout our week down at the beach
So I said Baby, we’ll always feel this way

And I don’t know what tomorrow brings
And I don’t know if we’ll ever have these things
I don’t know where we’ll be or what we’ll do.
But I will always want to be with you.

We roll down our windows to feel the breeze upon our face,
The salt air feels like heaven up above.
The children in the back seat are singing country tunes off-key,
And the car is floating on a sea of love.

I can’t wait until the journey’s end.
But there’s new sights just around the bend.
We’ll slow down time to appreciate the art
of life and the rhythm of our heart.

The children look so sweet dancing in the waves
looking out for dolphins in the sea.
Stretched out back behind us we leave footprints in the sand;
they point us to the place we’re meant to be.

I know things ain’t always easy now,
But I know that we’ll get by somehow.
We’ll have less and sometimes we’ll have more,
And we’ll always have our week down at the shore.

Driving back ‘cross the bridge over the Bay of Paradise,
You turn to me and ask how long we’ll stay.
I knew that you weren’t talking ’bout the place we keep our house,
So I said Baby, we’ll always feel this way.
